Travnik!!!

We got a chance to see another city in Bosnia. Well this time the visit was as a usual trip rather than special one like in Srebrenica. First, we were on the unique freeway of whole Bosnia and this solely road is just 27 km! But it was so nice to see outside scenes which were generally green areas and cute houses. A scene from the road can be seen below:Here, there is really nice tradition that I am crazy about. Almost all the houses have so nice flowers with different and lovely colors. Let's see when I can get my lovely ones?! Our trip took one and a half hour. I have learned that the city is especially famous with the vezirs that they served during Ottoman Empire. Another thing hat I have learned about Travnik is that during the war times, they paid money and got mines to put them all around the mountains for protecting their city from Serbian attacks. Indeed, they were successful because today it can be easily noticed that the city did not get so much detriment as the other cities. The city is famous about its fortress whose photos can be seen below:

Another famous thing about the city is really old mosque from Ottoman period. I liked this mosque quite much because first of all, it has so interesting figures on its outside walls. It is known that the mosques generally do not have miniatures on their outside walls. But this one has! And secondly, inside the mosque, all the things are maden from wood and so colorful. The pictures from the mosque are below:Yeees, there are more things about Travnik. I really liked the river going insdie the whole city and on some parts of this river, a special type of fish called trout (alabalık) is feed. So, it is so good idea to eat this fish there as freshly as possible.
I do not like to put special photos on my blog but I think the one that I was taken inside the medrese of Travnik is not inside this category. Do not you think? :)

On the way to return, we visited a small village called Ahmic. The importance of this village is, during the war time, almost all the residents of it were collected by the Croatians and put insdie the mosque and then burned! The mosque was repaired now and there is a long list of died people just at the front of the mosque. We could talk with the imam of the mosque for a while and he said that now there is not so much Croatian left here and generally we do not talk with them so much. Every part of Bosnia has so much memories from the war, hard to neglect, forget them!
