Ramazan Serif Mubarek Olsun!

The title above is not Turkish only but Bosnian also :) Yes, they are saying like that to celebrate each other's Ramazan, like we do in Turkish. This is my fourth Ramazan that I have been out of Turkey and especially Istanbul. I missed to be in Istanbul during Ramazan. It is so special (at least for me). How is Ramazan going on here? First of all, iftar is earlier than Turkish cities and of course Swedish ones :) Second, there are Ramazan programmes on TV (they are called Ramazanksi Program :) which are so so similar to our ones; there is a hostess and her guests in a kitchen. Someone is cooking, which makes you more hungry to watch, and the rest is talking about some issues that I do not understand. Third, 'teravih' times in mosques are nice. Fourth, 'hurma' is soo cheap especially when I compare with Swedish ones. I remembered the last Ramazan in Sweden when I could buy only 2, one for me for me and one for my husband. Fifth, thanks to the teachers who are here, we are gathering often to have iftar together and Turkish tea times after that. (My Swedish guy became addicted to 'semaver' Turkish back tea which I am not so fan of it). Last but not the least, it is not so warm, hence, it is not so hard to fast. But maybe it is because that I do not go out so often. I am just sitting at home and reading, reading...

'Velhasıl-ı kelam', the first Ramazan in Sarajevo is going quite nice for us. Hope that God thinks the same about us :)
